Beginning Glass Bead Making Class
Wednesday, January 26, 10 am - 12 pm, weekly through March 2, 2011
Thursday, January 27, 6 - 8 pm, weekly through March 3, 2011
This beginner class will introduce students to the magic of glass bead making, using the technique of lampworking.  We will cover safety and basic studio set-up.  Many decorative techniques will be explored during the six weeks of class giving students the opportunity to create lots of beads throughout each week.  Class continues once per week for 6 weeks.  Cost - $200.00 per person including all materials and use of tools.

January 29-30, 2011, 9 am - 5 pm daily

Intermediate Glass Bead Making Class

In this intermediate class, students will learn the basics of cane making and its application onto beads, simple floral imagery and basic sculptural techniques.  Bead design for jewelry and some jewelry making will be covered as requested by students.  Class continues once per week for 6 weeks.  Cost - $200.00 per person including all materials and use of tools.

Intermediate Glass Bead Making Seminar
February 26-27, 2011 from 9 am – 5 pm daily
In this intermediate class, we will cover the use and layering of metal leaf(s) and mesh.  The various applications of enamels will be explored on the second day of this seminar.  Cost - $200.00 per person including all materials and use of tools.

Bead Retreat
March 19-20, 2011, from 9 am – 5 pm daily
Retreats are an open forum for sharing and development of abilities with other bead makers.  One technique will be explored each morning with assistance and support provided.  Subjects covered are left open based on student sign-ups, abilities and requests.  Please let me know what you want to learn!  The balance of the time is for problem-solving and sharing.  This retreat will be held Cost - $160.00 per person including all materials and use of tools.

Torch Time
For bead makers who have had at least one beginner class, torch rental is available at the studio Thursdays – Saturdays 11:00 am – 6:00 pm or by appointment.  Please call ahead to confirm a place at the torch table.  Rental includes the use of tools, gases and some supervision and is $8.00 per hour if you bring your own glass.  If studio glass is used, the rental cost is $12.00 per hour.  The studio will always carry a good selection of Effetre glass rods.  Some other rod brands will also be available but on a more limited basis.

Bead Making Playshop
I have added something new this year!  Bring yourself and at least three of your friends for a two-hour playshop in glass bead making.  Students will learn the very basics of bead making in this “put your toe in” class.  Several beads will be made during class and students will get the idea of working with torch flame.  Class minimum is four persons.  Cost - $25.00 for the two hour class including instruction, glass, gases and use of tools.  Beads will be ready for pick up within two days after the playshop.
